31 Days to Happily Ever After – Day 5 – One More Invitation

After we sent out most of the invitations, I made up one more and sent it off to the White House. Apparently if you send a wedding invitation six weeks before the event, you stand a good chance at receiving a card back. Yes, I know it’s not personally signed by the President and First Lady, but I thought it would still be a fun keepsake – if we get something back.

Click this link to read how to order greetings from the White House.

You can see I didn’t risk this envelope being delivered “postage due”, and sent a simple card with a ribbon. It should have been fine.

Before I get any comments of derision for getting a keepsake from President Obama, let me stop you there. I won’t discuss politics here. You don’t have to agree with me, but we both have a right to our opinions.

No judgment.

Thank you.

  2. Regardless of your political position, having a card from the President of the United States is quite an honor!

    1. I agree. I'm hoping it arrives before the wedding so we can display it at the reception. :o)

  3. I would love it if I got a keepsake from President Obama! It would be exciting if he showed up! I think I'd pass out. I know he is a little busy right now, so he probably won't be able to make it.... but hey, you never know!

    1. LOL! Linda, I actually share a 6th great-grandmother with President Obama, so we're extremely distant cousins of a sort. Wouldn't it be fun to introduce him as "my cousin the President"?
